Pour ce nouveau quartet, Sarah Murcia fait appel à des complices de longue date, Olivier Py et Benoit Delbecq (ici essentiellement dans le rôle du batteur avec une approche personnelle de l’électronique), et à un musicien qu’il lui tardait d’inviter, le tubiste François Thuillier.
L’orchestration minimale, par instants décharnée, répond à la nécessité profonde d’un son à la fois sec et très vivant, né du paradoxe entre la générosité des cuivres, la présence de la voix et les rythmiques électroniques. Comme toujours avec Sarah, il s’agit de mêler écriture et improvisation, et d’imaginer une esthétique singulière, originale et indéfinissable.
Ce groupe trace un chemin musical et un son hors norme, sans compromis, indifférents aux catégories communes.

For this new quartet, Sarah Murica surrounds herself with longtime accomplices, Olivier Py and Benoit Delbecq (here mainly in the role of the drummer with his personal approach to electronics), and a musician she was longing to invite, tubist François Thuillier.
The minimalist orchestration responds to the deep need for a sound that is both dry and very lively, born from the paradox between brass generosity, presence of the voice and electronic rhythms.
As always with Sarah, it’s about mixing written music and improvisation, and creating an original, singular and indefinable aesthetic.
This group traces a musical path and a particular sound, without compromise, indifferent to common categories.
